Energize your day with a workout before work.

Join park neighbor Pilates on Fifth for an al fresco mat Pilates class. Studio owners Katherine and Kimberly Corp help you target the deep muscles of the abdomen to and spine to build a strong body from the inside out. The hour long class is paced for an energetic workout and open to all skill and age levels.

Some mats will be provided, but class participants are encouraged to bring their own.

Rain cancellation decisions will be made by 5pm on Sunday evening; please check our website and Twitter.

Ditch your desk to study, work freelance, or meet as a group outdoors! The Bryant Park Workspace tables are conveniently located in front of the New York Public Library and seat up to 50 people.

 

Test your coordination and dexterity with free juggling lessons in the park. All skill levels are welcome to join in the fun. Equipment is provided.

If juggling lessons are scheduled to take place on the lawn and the lawn happens to be closed, the jugglers will relocate to the 42nd Street Plaza.

Pianist and composer Yuka Aikawa began playing piano at the age of five in her native country, Japan. She studied at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, where she received her M.A. in jazz performance under the guidance of Sir Roland Hanna and Jimmy Heath. During this time, she received the prestigious Michael Feinstein Award for “Outstanding Talent.” When not at Bryant Park, you can hear Yuka at various Jazz clubs in and around the New York area - including the Blue Note, Kitano Hotel, and Birdland Jazz Club, as an accompanist for the jazz choir - the Lance Hayward Singers, or on Carline Ray's beautiful album Vocal Sides, produced by Catherine Russell www.facebook.com/CarlineRay. Yuka's new trio album, Clouds and Water, a tribute to Sir Roland Hanna, has been released in Japan, where she will be touring this summer.

Tai Chi and Eternal Spring are instructed by members of the Tai Chi Chuan Center for all ages and experience levels.

Classes are rain or shine.

 

Perfect your downward dog under the trees and on with Elizabeth Neuse from YogaWorks. Flint teaches alignment-based vinyasa flow classes at YogaWorks in Soho and Union Square as well as retreats and workshops around the world. She incorporates loving kindness meditation into her classes to remind her students that at our essence we are all perfect and we are all one. Mats provided by Athleta, but feel free to bring your own as well.

The Scrabble Game Social brings together the park's wordsmiths in pursuit of Scrabble bingos, and high scoring tiles. If you go wild for words, this one's for you!

Join us for the park's first ever mixed doubles ping pong tournament, and prove that table tennis truly appeals to all.

Pairs must be one female + one male. Pre-registration is required. Please sign up with both names in the registration name field. (example: Patti Smith and John Doe) One email will suffice for each team.

Are you a solo female, who needs a partner to play? Please email us at bpc@urbanmgt.com, and we will be happy to find a match.

On-site registration will open at 6pm if space allows. Please check-in with attendant when you arrive for the tournament. We will begin promptly at 6:30pm. Registration will close, and spots will be turned over to wait-listed registrants, beginning at 6:20pm.


USATT ranked players with a rating of 2000 or higher are not eligible to play.

The U.S. Air Force celebrates its 67th birthday in Bryant Park. Events begin at 11:30am with a reading and presentation of a mayoral proclamation, official remarks by Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James and a traditional cake-cutting ceremony. A performance by the USAF Heritage of America Band's ensemble Full Spectrum follows at 12:30pm, featuring a wide range of music - from pop and hip-hop to R&B and funk to classic rock and Latin.

Please join us for a special glow stick yoga class to cap off this spectacular season! Vinyasa through the evening and light up your mat with glow stick bracelets!

We will celebrate the finale with a brief loving kindness meditation led by YogaWorks teacher Elizabeth Neuse Flint. Neuse Flint teaches alignment-based vinyasa flow classes at YogaWorks in Soho and Union Square as well as retreats and workshops around the world. She incorporates loving kindness meditation into her classes to remind her students that at our essence we are all perfect and we are all one.

Mats provided by Athleta, but feel free to bring your own as well. Each participant will receive two glow stick bracelets, while supplies last.

Gotham Writers Workshop invites you to let go of your literary anxiety and pick up a pen. You’ll get three short writing prompts, a few minutes to write, and the chance to tell your story. Gotham instructor Melissa Petro leads this exercise for your writer brain—no pressure, no angst, just freewheeling creativity.
