This event has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 27.

Artist Sheryl Oring and a team of over 60 artists, PEN writers, and students invite visitors to the park to dictate postcards to the Presidential candidates. Message are typed on a manual typewriters throughout the park, and Oring will mail them to the candidates.

Co-presented by PEN World Voices Festival and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

This work is made possible, in part, by the Franklin Furnace Fund supported by The SHS Foundation, public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and general operating support from the New York State Council on the Arts; Creative Capital Foundation; and by the Art Department and the Lloyd International Honors College at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Oring's book, "Activating Democracy: The I Wish to Say Project,"  is due out in Fall 2016 from Intellect Books.

As a small gesture of gratitude to the late musical icon, the Southwest Porch at Bryant Park will exclusuively play Prince's music from 7-10pm. Plus, there will be a specialty drink for purchase, fittingly named "Purple Rain."

Join The Rise NYC, a community-driven pop-up fitness group, for a Boot Camp on the Fountain Terrace, on the Sixth Avenue side of the park. Rotations through exercises like crunches, planks, push-ups, burpees, and mountain climbers ensure a mixture of cardio and strength training that will keep you coming back--and seeing results. 

No equipment necessary; smiles and high-fives encouraged. Rain or shine.

Join us for an enjoyable walking tour of Bryant Park, and discover how Bryant Park Corporation successfully transformed "Needle Park" of the 1970s into Manhattan's Town Square of today. Our guides are loaded with expertise on the park's rich history, award-winning design, distinct amenities, and ongoing maintenance efforts.

Registration is required. Click here to register with Eventbrite. Please arrive at the Fountain by 10:55am to check-in with the guide. Tour will depart promptly at 11am.

FAQs

What is your cancellation policy?
Tours will continue as scheduled in light rain, but will be cancelled in heavy rain or inclement weather.

How large are tour groups?
Tours are capped at 20 participants. Please contact tours@urbanmgt.com if you plan to attend with a group larger than six people.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Take a stab at the modern sport of fencing with masters from Manhattan Fencing Center.

No prior experience needed and equipment is provided.

Pre-registration is rqeuired at www.manhattanfencing.com or by calling Manhattan Fencing Center at 212-382-2255. Drop-ins will only be accepted if space allows. Must be 16 or older to participate.
