Go birding!

Discover the surprising diversity of birds that call Bryant Park home during migratory season with guided tours. Located in the heart of midtown, Bryant Park is a hotspot for avian visitors and birders alike. Past sightings include warblers, tanagers, vireos, thrushes, and even a Chuck-will's-widow!

A Note on Kuni Mikami

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Kuni came to the United States in 1975 where he has been playing for many of the top big-bands ever since. Bands like: The Lionel Hampton Orchestra; Duke Ellington; Cab Calloway; Illinois Jacquet; and George Gee Orchestra to name but a few. His own trio just completed a whirlwind tour of Guatemala & Mexico in March, and Japan in June of this year.

Free classes for all ages and experience levels. 

Bryant Park Tai Chi is provided by the Tai Chi Chuan Center and led by teachers and students who train at CK Chu Tai Chi under the direction of Jeremy Hubbell.

Classes are rain or shine.

 

Test your coordination and dexterity with free juggling lessons in the park. All skill levels are welcome to join in the fun. Equipment is provided.

 

Join the Bryant Park Young Professionals for a chance to meet and mingle with your neighbors. Have a supply of your business cards ready to exchange and come hungry because we will be serving our favorite sandwiches from Pret A Manger.

Join The Rise NYC, a community-driven pop-up fitness group, for a Boot Camp on the Fountain Terrace, on the Sixth Avenue side of the park. Rotations through exercises like crunches, planks, push-ups, burpees, and mountain climbers ensure a mixture of cardio and strength training that will keep you coming back--and seeing results. 

No equipment necessary; smiles and high-fives encouraged. Rain or shine.

This class, presented by the Shinnyo Center for Meditation & Well-Being, translates fundamental Buddhist principles into experiences that can be accessible to anyone in contemporary society. The Walking Meditation classes will begin at the Upper Terrace gravel (across from the Bryant Park Cafe) with opening remarks and instruction; then, the class will conduct a slow and mindful turn about the park. With the Walking Meditation class, you'll have already had a powerful experience by the time you go into work!

 

Join us for an enjoyable walking tour of Bryant Park, and discover how Bryant Park Corporation successfully transformed "Needle Park" of the 1970s into Manhattan's Town Square of today. Our guides are loaded with expertise on the park's rich history, award-winning design, distinct amenities, and ongoing maintenance efforts.

Registration is required. Click here to register with Eventbrite. Please arrive at the Fountain by 10:55am to check-in with the guide. Tour will depart promptly at 11am.

FAQs

What is your cancellation policy?
Tours will continue as scheduled in light rain, but will be cancelled in heavy rain or inclement weather.

How large are tour groups?
Tours are capped at 20 participants. Please contact tours@urbanmgt.com if you plan to attend with a group larger than six people.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No need!

Kubb takes over the lawn during our single-elimination, bracket-style tournaments. Pre-register at Eventbrite with a group of up to 6 players; registration opens one month before the tournament. On-site registration starts at 5:30pm if space allows.

Please check in with host when you arrive for the tournament. We will begin promptly at 6:00pm. Registration will close, and spots will be turned over to wait-listed registrants, beginning at 5:50pm.

Take a stab at the modern sport of fencing with masters from Manhattan Fencing Center.

No prior experience needed and equipment is provided.
