Pianist and composer Yuka Aikawa began playing piano at the age of five in her native country, Japan. She studied at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, where she received her M.A. in jazz performance under the guidance of Sir Roland Hanna and Jimmy Heath. During this time, she received the prestigious Michael Feinstein Award for "Outstanding Talent." When not at Bryant Park, you can see Yuka at various Jazz clubs in and around the New York area, including the Blue Note, Kitano Hotel, and Birdland Jazz Club.

Stop by as Bryant Park is transformed into a stunning wool installation, to celebrate the inaugural launch of the Campaign for Wool in the United States.
The lawn will become the sheep's meadow for the day and the Fountain Terrace will be turned into a luxurious Wool Salon with beautiful richly colored carpet and a stunning wool bed. There will be no water in the fountain - instead it will spill over with wool and yarn and much more will take place on the day.
Convened by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, the Campaign for Wool educates consumers about the natural benefits of wool and promote wool-rich products.
