About the Curators

Ethan Lipton is an Obie-Award winning songwriter and playwright with a passion for songs that transport through story. This series features some of his favorite troubadours banging around New York today. Nutty, gnarly and idiosyncratic, these acts share a love for the unexpected lyric and a reverence for music traditions of yore. As songwriters, they are making a new American music that pulls on heartstrings and tickles the funny bone while making you feel right at home.

Somi is an East African vocalist and SONY/OKeh recording artist.
