Bryant Park hospitality crew members are expected to:

  • Read and follow written directions from the executive office staff
  • Prepare the park for events, including the placement of barricades, set-up of equipment, and rearrangement of park furniture
  • Assist with openings and closures of the lawn, including informing the public, removing furniture, and placing proper signage throughout the park
  • Rake gravel paths and lawn
  • Restock visitor guides and events brochures in park racks
  • Conduct daily counts of all Bryant Park visitors
  • Collect litter along a specific route in the park after events and during slow days
  • Familiarize themselves with information about the park and layout to assist park visitors
  • Take directions from management staff regarding special assignments
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed on a scheduled basis
  • Work outdoors in most weather conditions
  • Maintain neat appearance in uniform and hygiene

Successful Bryant Park hospitality crew members are:

  • Able to understand written and spoken English
  • Proficient in interpreting maps of the park to complete supervisors' instructions
  • Perceptive to surroundings
  • Prompt in completing tasks
  • Flexible in their willingness to switch tasks at a moment's notice
  • Courteous and helpful when answering any questions from park patrons
  • Tidy in appearance and grooming

There are several full-time positions available with varying hours. Applicants with previous maintenance experience are given preference in hiring. Pay is $9/hour with opportunity for overtime and raises for good performance. Employees who work 30 hours a week will be eligible for health insurance and other benefits after 90 days of full-time work.
